Poulet (VivoCity)
Casual Dining · Halal certified · Singapore City, Singapore
Cuisines: French
The menu spreads wider than the name suggests. Before the roast chicken even arrives, there is a run of starters and sides worth ordering on their own: French Onion Soup, Truffle Shoestring Fries, Glazed Winglets in Sriracha hot sauce, Brussels Sprouts with Sesame Dressing, and Garlic Butter Clam Little Toast. Pasta plates such as Truffle Chicken Alfredo and Mixed Seafood Pasta, along with Grilled Sea Bass and a Beef Oxtail Pot Pie, mean a table can eat well without touching the signature dish at all.
That said, most people come for the roast. Each bird is brined overnight and slow-roasted to a golden skin, served in quarters, halves, or whole, and matched with a sauce ranging from the mild Mushroom Cream to the peppery Diane, the warmer Black Pepper Cream, or the sweeter Cranberry.
The setting is one of the more notable in the chain. VivoCity is the largest shopping mall in Singapore, designed by the Japanese architect Toyo Ito, and it sits on the HarbourFront waterfront as the main gateway to Sentosa, directly above HarbourFront MRT. The Poulet outlet on the first level places diners within a building known for its sea views, rooftop amphitheatre, and constant flow of visitors heading to the island resort.
That location gives the outlet a different energy from the suburban branches. Foot traffic is heavy and varied, drawing tourists, families en route to Sentosa, and locals treating the waterfront as a weekend outing. The dining room stays casual and accommodates groups, and desserts like Mango Pudding and Vanilla French Toast give diners a reason to sit a little longer before continuing on toward the harbour or the crossing to Sentosa.
