This is the newest link in the BatterCatch chain, its sixth outlet, and the brand's first venture into the west. It sits on the second floor of IMM in Jurong East, Singapore's largest outlet mall, a free shuttle ride or ten minute walk from Jurong East MRT interchange.
While the fish and chips carries the menu here as at every outlet, the Catch Fish Burger is a reason to consider this location for a quicker meal between outlet stores. A crispy haddock fillet is layered with cheddar cheese and homemade tartar sauce inside a brioche butter bun, and the burger is available as a set from $14.90 before service charge and tax, putting it below the plated fish options in price. On the standard plates, the fish selection runs from dory through haddock and barramundi to halibut, all fried to order in the house batter and served with fries, mushy peas, tartar sauce, guacamole and a further choice of curry or brown sauce.
The drinks list goes beyond the usual soft drinks, with house beverages such as the Longan Tea Oasis, a light tea based drink that offsets the fried food. Battered sides including pineapple fritters extend the format in a sweeter direction, and the chain's regular sides such as truffle fries and the parmesan corn rib are available.
The dining room carries the same coastal styling as the rest of the chain and is sized for family groups, in keeping with IMM's weekend crowd of west side households. Since opening, the outlet has drawn consistently positive diner feedback for the freshness of its fish and the size of its portions.
